A cutting-edge Aerospace & Defence organisation is seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to join their Design team.
The design department designs new and modified rocket motors and related systems. Our analysis services include ballistic performance prediction and modelling, propellant charge and hardware stress analysis, and documentation provision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities
* We conduct structural and thermal analysis of rocket motor systems using FEA software such as Abaqus.
* We utilise various software and programming techniques including Fortran, Matlab, and Hyperworks.
* Rheological analysis of material testing results informs our FEA model validation and verification processes.
* We develop structural test plans and deliver assessment reports for assigned projects.
* We serve as the technical authority for structural performance aspects of assigned projects, supporting customer meetings, project investigations, design reviews, and corresponding stress engineer collaborations.
* We create key project documentation including structural analysis reports, test plans, and design records.
Experience & Background Requirements:
* Degree-level education in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering, or a related field like Materials Science.
* Strong understanding of materials science principles.
* Professional experience with ABAQUS software.
* CAD modelling skills are essential.
