About the role The eCommerce team is looking for 1 Senior UX Writer to join the team until December 2025. You are a skilled end-to-end Senior UX Writer who has experience in user-centred design thinking. You understand what differentiates copywriting from UX writing and have the portfolio to prove it. You can plan and deliver a clearly defined and intelligently planned content strategy in order to deliver exciting products and services across John Lewis & Partners. Importantly, you can bring stakeholders on this journey. You’re an expert at translating complex, commercial and technical briefs into intuitive customer-friendly experiences that are accessible for all. You can alternate between working on granular iterations of microcopy to designing and problem-solving large-scale conceptual and strategically-aligned pieces. Ideally, you have experience working in Agile and understand what is required to 'work lean' – working closely with your colleagues to iterate and learn quickly. Some of the key responsibilities: Planning, designing and writing user-centred copy for the John Lewis website, app and other touchpoints Working alongside Product Designers in multidisciplinary, Agile product teams Exploring copy and design solutions using a ‘test and learn’ approach Analysing quantitative and qualitative data and insight sources from discovery to form evidence-based copy Providing a holistic view of the content experience and mapping across all omnichannel touchpoints Planning and facilitating workshops to align stakeholders, establishing customer, business and project requirements to identify risks and dependencies Helping drive design and copy quality, consistency and great ways of working between teams through a regular feedback process with your line manager as well as the wider Product team Advocating and creating inclusive design solutions following W3C accessibility standards Making sure content recommendations are aligned with brand, tone of voice guidelines and proposition/services objectives Supporting the UX Writing Manager in creating and socialising the UXwriting strategy and guidelines Building relationships across the business in order to support and influence all aspects of the customer experience Advocating for the Experience Design team and user-centred design in the wider Partnership and sharing UX writing best practice.
