Structural Engineer
Near Croydon
£38k-£48k
As a design-led practice, this firm of Structural Engineers works to improve the 'built' environment. Their vast experience and passion for combining quality of structure with visual perfection enables them to deliver sensitive conversions of period buildings, as well as modern designs for new buildings. They are an enthusiastic and growing company looking for bright talent, currently employing around 15 staff.
They specialise in the construction of small to medium-sized building projects, ranging from £10,000 to £8m. Following their success in winning Croydon's Best Small Business Award, they were finalists in the South London Business Awards. They pride themselves on exceptional staff loyalty and retention, providing a quality engineering service to their clients.
The firm has extensive basement knowledge, having completed 105 basement projects in the last five years. They provide design advice to several large basement companies and assist neighbours with secondary advice during adjacent works. They also offer temporary works design services. Ideally, candidates should be able to run projects or parts of projects without supervision. AutoCAD literacy is required as candidates will be expected to produce their own drawings. An interest in architecture and a long-term career opportunity are essential, along with knowledge of new build and refurbishment, and the ability to design in all main materials. Candidates must reside within a sensible commuting distance of Croydon and have no visa restrictions. Excellent communication skills are essential as all staff are client-facing.
Experience in Party Wall surveying or dealing with small awards and condition surveys would be a definite bonus, or candidates should be willing to undergo training for this. Candidates nearing Chartered status will be viewed favorably.
The firm offers a supportive team working environment where people enjoy working together, work hard, and have fun. They are a flexible and friendly team.
