Assistant Psychologist Cancer Psychology Team - 1 year FTC, B5 1wte
We are looking for a full-time Assistant Psychologist to join our cancer psychology team for a 1 year fixed term post.
You will work alongside a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and other Clinical Psychologists, as part of a supportive and caring team of cancer psychologists. You will support the work of the service by contributing to inpatient and outpatient psychological assessments and, where necessary, providing brief structure psychological interventions to people with cancer. You will also liaise with multi-disciplinary colleagues to help coordinate psychological care for patients.
The cancer related concerns that the team helps with includes helping individuals prepare for complex treatments and associated decision-making, enhancing their ability to cope with cancer symptoms and treatment side-effects, cancer related traumatic stress, managing fears of recurrence or cancer spread, and living well with treatable but not curable cancer.

There is lots of scope to help you move towards clinical training with regular CPD, and a chance to contribute to the research that the team undertakes.
