We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to work within our Technical team.
Working within a busy department, you will report to the Technical Manager and will be involved in all areas of Quality, Technical, and Food Safety.
Your goal will be to help us ensure that we produce products that meet customer expectations and ensure that Food Safety is maintained.
Responsibilities
1. To work with the Technical Manager in all relevant Technical and Quality areas
2. To maintain the Quality Manual and systems to the required BRC standard
3. To liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any quality or food safety issues
4. To supervise and manage the QA staff and Hygiene staff
5. To work with the Production Manager and Supervisors to ensure that all production activities and work practices meet the required standards
6. To ensure that all QA related paperwork is completed, recorded, and filed accurately
7. To work with the management team to ensure all technical audits are managed effectively
8. To understand the role of the Technical Manager and be able to deputise
9. Proactive approach in new initiatives to drive quality improvements (continuous improvement)
10. Collecting samples and analysis of microbiological results
11. Dealing with day-to-day quality issues and resolving anomalies
12. Active role within the HACCP team, including updating risk assessments, hazard analysis, and product flows.
13. Ensure all corrective actions are implemented and monitored
14. Dealing with customer complaints in a timely manner
15. Mass Balances & Traceability Exercises
16. Management of Raw Material suppliers
17. Management of calibration schedule
Requirements
1. Clean UK/EU driving license
2. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in a Quality / Technical role.
3. Third level qualification Degree or HNC/D in a relevant food-related discipline
4. Ability to effectively plan and organise to meet deadlines.
5. Strong IT skills and an ability to record and present information in a concise format.
6. The ability to work well under pressure and to play your role in a busy team environment.
7. Excellent communicator with positive leadership skills.
