Our small family company in it's 40th year are looking for an apprentice to join us and learn their trade as a precision machinist. We specialise in machining materials which are used in oil and gas, aerospace, defence industries amongst others, and have a wealth of experience to share.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Learn all aspects of our machining and production processes.
* Working alongside experienced members of staff and eventually becoming more independent to facilitate setting up and operating all of our machinery.
* Learn operation of manual lathes and CNC lathes, performing processes such as turning, drilling, trepanning, threading, parting, etc.
* Comply with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
* Assist with other duties such as helping with packing, loading and unloading of lorries, cleaning/ tidying of the workplace.
* Become an integral member of the team.
* Interpret information and plan their activities.
* Set up, operate and adjust machine tool settings.
* Inspect components and machinery, report issues and support continuous improvement activities.
