This role is suitable for those looking for more responsibility and someone that can help and mentor social workers. It s a unique role and we want you to bring your identity and passion for helping families achieve permanency and celebrating their successes. You will manage a small caseload and be joint allocated to families who need support to achieve permanency. This means the families you work with and support will be near the end of our involvement meaning you will be the one to help them celebrate their successes and achieve a positive outcome through permanency. You will support children and families to progress in their journey through long term linking to their foster homes, pursuing Special Guardianship Orders, Adoption and the ending of Care Orders meaning families can lead a more private family life. We want you to support practitioners and leaders in identifying these children through regular support and attendance at our permanence panel and where required support practitioners to achieve outcomes. By this, you will help to complete assessments and court statements, support with any ongoing needs and mentor Social Workers and less experienced practitioners where required. Within the role you will be in liaison with the courts and our legal team. We recognise you may not have a lot of experience in this area but we want someone who is willing to learn processes and strengthen practice. You will also work alongside our SGO Coordinator and other key services such as our Fostering Team, Adoption Team and Route29 who are specialists who will offer intensive 7 day a week support to relevant children. You will work alongside our Stepping Stones Cared for Children s team which is made up of 3 teams of 8 Social Workers, 4 Advanced Social Workers, 5 Social Work Support Officers, 3 Practice Managers, a Service Manager and Head of Service. Our Cared for Children s team work with cared for children in various settings such as residential, foster care, connected persons and at home with parents up until the age of 16 years.
