To assist service users who are either Older People, have Physical Disability Sensory Impairment or have Learning Disabilities, to and from their place of residence to their day care setting.
Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific
* Provide safe transportation for all, in accordance with all CCBC practices and procedures.
* Collect and return service users in comfort and safety to their home, including the loading and unloading of wheelchairs and special equipment.
* Act as the first point of contact between service users, parents/carers, etc., when reporting on their needs and condition.
* Communicate and liaise with all relevant parties in accordance with the service users' care plan.
* Be aware of personal responsibilities regarding health & safety and that of the service user.
* Undertake and perform any necessary training.
* Drive any departmental vehicle and be responsible for general vehicle checks, maintenance, and cleaning.
* Follow all CCBC policies and procedures.
* Carry out all duties in a sensitive manner that supports and does not undermine independence.
* Work effectively as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities Corporate
* Establish good working relationships both internally and externally.
* Comply with the Authority's Policies and Procedures and inform Senior Officers of any inadequately covered areas.
* Participate actively in supporting the Authority's principles and practices of equality of opportunity as laid down within the Equalities Policy.
* Apply Health & Safety practices within daily operations, sharing responsibility for Health & Safety across the department, directorate, and Authority.
* Provide necessary personal information to the Authority for proper administrative and payroll purposes.
* Undertake any reasonable task, commensurate with your grade, as determined by your Line Manager or Head of Service.
* Be aware of the Corporate Safeguarding Policy and report any concerns appropriately and within timescales.
