About the Role
The Youth Justice Officer role is centred on direct engagement with children involved in the Youth Justice System. Responsibilities include:
Conducting assessments and developing tailored plans.
Delivering positive interventions and activities that support rehabilitation and personal growth.
Facilitating reparation activities and contributing to programs such as the Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Program.
Participating in innovative projects designed to prevent re offending.Additionally, Youth Justice Officers will provide assessments and interventions for children at the first tier of the Youth Justice System, including Out of Court Disposals and Prevention work. The role involves managing a diverse caseload comprising:
Out of Court Disposals
Prevention (Turnaround) referrals
Post-court casesKey Requirements
Hybrid working model: 2-3 days per week in the office, with 5 days per week when on duty (if applicable).
Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle and business cover (including carrying passengers).
