The Housing and Homelessness Service is a very busy environment facing several challenges to meet the housing needs of Coventry citizens. The team has grown significantly over the past 12 months, reflecting that Housing & Homelessness are now key council priorities. The team is responsible for:
1. Provision of the statutory homeless service
2. Provision of temporary accommodation
3. Management of the housing register
4. Coordination of support to citizens rough sleeping
5. Commissioning of homeless services
6. Responsibility for housing strategy

Job Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Support Officer within Coventry City Council's Housing & Homelessness Department. This is a 12-month full-time fixed-term position. You will be the first point of contact for new customers, providing advice and information to those experiencing or threatened with homelessness.
Main duties include:
* Handling enquiries from the public, third parties, and stakeholders
* Working as part of a team to deliver organizational goals
* Responding to administrative tasks
* Providing advice, guidance, and signposting
* Contributing to team performance objectives
Candidate Profile
This role suits someone with a background in administration and customer service. Experience in homelessness is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. We seek someone who:
* Has strong organizational skills and can prioritize effectively
* Is flexible in approach
* Possesses sufficient IT skills to interpret and access information
* Has experience dealing with diverse people and resolving enquiries
* Cares about delivering excellent service to internal and external customers
