Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) Salary - £35,235 - £39,513 (Grade 6) Hours - 37 Contract type - full time, permanent We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated team within the City of Wolverhampton Council. You will work under the guidance of the Senior Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of building services across the city. Responsibilities: Maintain and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, with a focus on fault finding and controls. Interpret technical drawings and specifications with ease. Keep accurate site diaries and manage contract procedures effectively. Work independently to ensure systems run smoothly and prevent building closures. Demonstrate a proactive approach to preventing system issues and ensuring operational efficiency. Key Requirements: Either a JIB graded Electrical PMES Technician or equivalent engineering graded equivalent, or NVQ, Level 4, or equivalent experience by demonstration of ability in building services. L8 Responsible person training. Certification Scheme approved qualification in commercial gas work. Skills & Experience Required: Substantial experience in heating and ventilation maintenance. Expertise in BMS controls, combustion, and ventilation systems. In-depth technical knowledge of complex commercial building heating and ventilation systems. Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative to keep buildings operational.
