To work from our new premises in Aylsham with a family-owned company, to handle PMI's M.O.T's (including Roller Brake testing though training would be given) and also to assist in repairs to ensure the fleet is run to industry standards, rectifying defects. HGV/PCV mechanical experience preferred. You will be working alongside our current technician and staff.
There could possibly be school runs morning and afternoon to cover if you have a current D licence. Training can be provided if needed, and overtime is available both with driving and maintenance cover. Driver training can be provided if a PCV licence is required for the right candidate as a PCV licence is not totally essential though preferable.
Summary
As a PCV Fitter / HGV Fitter, you will be integral to the maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will utilize your core skills in hand tools, fabrication, and welding to perform high-quality repairs. A valid PCV licence would be preferable, and mechanical knowledge is required to excel in this role, alongside relevant skills, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our fleet.
Responsibilities
1. Utilize hand tools and power tools for the assembly and fabrication of components.
2. Perform welding tasks, including TIG and stick welding, to ensure structural integrity.
3. Conduct mechanical inspections and repairs, applying mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues.
4. Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols.
5. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines.
6. Ensure compliance with PCV licensing requirements during all fitting operations.
