About the Charity
At SFiCE Foundation our main objectives are community development, to help reduce the effects of food poverty, isolation, and ill health within the city of Nottingham.
We aim to do this by providing several free projects for vulnerable adults and the homeless. We address educational, health & well-being and core needs.
In June 2015 we held our first SFiCE Social Cafe in Nottingham to help ease the effects of food poverty faced by vulnerable people within the city. We now open the Social Cafe three times a week. We also provide health checks, ESOL classes, clothing bank and toiletries. Our recent project, the retired Social Club has also started to help reach out to the elderly in our community.
Our charity is expanding and as demand for our services continues to grow, we require a Cook to support us through this exciting period.
Roles and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for organising all aspects within the kitchen in order to provide nutritious and well-balanced meals for our service users. We require an experienced and creative part-time cook who can use their skills to produce fresh 3 course meals using the ingredients already available. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is very important for this role. You will work alongside the Head Cook and volunteers.
As the cook you will lead by example in Health and Food Safety, by ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining kitchen hygiene. It would be advantageous to have Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificates; however, we will pay for the training if needed.
As this role involves working with vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS). Two independent references will be required, one business and one personal.
