Assistant Manager Taunton, Bath or Exeter
About the role
Due to sustained growth, an opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team based out of any of our Taunton, Exeter, or Bath offices.
We’re looking for a dedicated and organised Assistant Manager to join our Veterinary Accounts Team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting senior managers and associates with client work, project management, and team coordination. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain more responsibility while developing their skills within a supportive environment.
You won’t need to manage your own client portfolio; instead, your focus will be on providing essential support to senior staff, ensuring deadlines are met, and helping the team deliver outstanding service.
Responsibilities to include:
1. Assist senior managers and associates with day-to-day client work, including preparing financial reports, tax computations, and reviewing accounts.
2. Help with planning and executing key projects, ensuring they’re completed efficiently and on time.
3. Support the senior team in overseeing junior staff, reviewing their work, and providing guidance where needed.
4. Coordinate communication between senior team members and junior staff, ensuring everyone is aligned on key tasks and objectives.
5. Prepare and review client financial statements, management accounts, tax returns, and VAT filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
6. Assist in preparing key reports and presentations for senior managers to deliver to clients.
7. Support senior team members in identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and enhance efficiency within the team.
About you
You will be ACCA/ACA qualified, with at least 2-3 years of experience post qualification and experience of working in practice. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential due to the amount of client contact and interaction with those in your team, both communicating with your seniors and the juniors in which you will have a hand in developing.
You will be a key member of the qualified staff within the team, assisting our senior managers with the management of a portfolio of clients, organising your own time, and sharing in the responsibility of managing and developing the team of junior trainee staff. The role would involve direct client interaction and the need to be comfortable in being a point of contact and giving proactive advice and assistance on a regular basis.
