Leading a small team and reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role will join an inspirational team to support the transformational journey of the function. Ensuring they are fit for purpose for the next generation (and planning for the next decade), the business is undergoing a strategic review and from this, considerable investment is being made into the Procurement function.
Shaping the new target operating model for Procurement, this role will be responsible for all Procurement matters including reforming the Estates, Digital, and key Project streams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic oversight in developing the business's procurement and contract management operating framework.
* Enable the implementation of the Procurement strategic plan. Working with Category and Contract managers, assessing team workload, prioritising and allocating projects; and reviewing progress against agreed deadlines.
* Lead a team of specialists, providing reliable data and MI driving business decisions, and ensuring systems operate reliably and efficiently.
* Be the strategic lead on commercial contract management practice, ensuring there is an appropriate framework in place, monitoring and evaluating supplier performance, driving innovation and added value through supplier management
* Deputise for the Head of Procurement as required.

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering procurement for complex and routine requirements in a regulated / complex environment. You will have demonstrable leadership experience and capability, with the ability to work dynamically with the changing nature of the business and possess a high level of commercial acumen.
The ability to build strong, productive relationships across the company and with external suppliers, will be key to your success.
