With the recent expansion of our fleet, we're thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity at our Liverpool Regional Distribution Centre's Vehicle Maintenance Unit for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team. This is an exciting role within a fast-paced, growing environment where your skills will directly contribute to the upkeep and reliability of our extensive fleet. As a Vehicle Technician, you'll work closely with the Shift Supervisor and the VMU team, both on-site and occasionally for off-site repairs, ensuring that our fleet is maintained to the highest standards. This role will see you support the business by adhering to health, safety, and DVSA regulations while striving to uphold a smooth and efficient operation.,
* Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance - Maintain and repair the company's commercial fleet, ensuring all vehicles are legal, safe, and fit for use.
* Health and Safety Compliance - Adhere to health and safety procedures, use PPE as required, and comply with legal requirements.
* Preventative Maintenance and Repairs - Perform vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, MOT preparation, and repairs to a high standard.
* Diagnostic Inspections Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computer-based diagnostic equipment.
* Road Testing Conduct road tests to confirm the effectiveness of repairs.
* Tail Lift and Vehicle Body Repairs - Undertake tail lift maintenance, vehicle body work repairs, fabrication, and basic welding.
* Equipment and Workspace Upkeep - Maintain VMU equipment and ensure a clean and organised workspace.
* Effective Communication - Communicate with VMU and Transport management on delays or additional work required, and respond professionally to inquiries.
* Record-Keeping and Administration - Complete all required paperwork, reports, and checklists promptly and accurately.
* Team Collaboration - Provide support to VMU and Transport colleagues, working effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Min 3 years' proven experience as a Vehicle Technician with trailer maintenance experience
* Level 2 City & Guilds or BTECH National in HGV Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent UK recognised qualification
* UK Driving licence (HGV category an advantage)
* Experience in fault diagnostic equipment, e.g. Tech tool, MULTI/STAR and JAL and including trailer systems
* A desire for delivering the highest possible standards of work with respect to quality and compliance
* Must own standard tools - more specific tools will be provided

* IRTEC inspection licence along with any tail lift inspection certification

* £59,120 per annum
+ £48,000 base salary plus £9,120 night shift premium
* 4 on 4 off - nights
+ 6pm - 6am
