This role as an HSE Specialist is to provide expert and professional advice and guidance to the O&M Design & Implementation Team, and its line management team on all health, safety and environmental issues.
About the role:
* Support the O&M Design & Implementation Team in implementing high standards of proactive and continual improvement 'We Care' ethos, including initiatives in behavioural safety, well-being and sustainability to ensure a favourable outcome for the team members.
* Engage and develop relationships with teams to eliminate and reduce risks, develop HSE culture for the O&M Design & Implementation Team and adhere to HSE standards and rules.
* Support HSSE onboarding & refresher activities of all team members in line with local requirements globally (delivered either in-person or remotely).
* Liaising with internal and external departments to ensure contractors are suitably selected, engaged and monitored for health, safety and environmental performance, including those procured to develop O&M Infrastructure assets on behalf of RWE.
* Produce, review and update health, safety and environment-related documentation required by the allocated O&M Design & Implementation Team as directed by the Head of HSE Offshore Operations and/or Team Lead HSE Offshore Operations, United Kingdom (UK)/Continental Europe (CE) or required by the HSE function.
* Contribute towards and deliver on annual key performance indicators, annual We Care goals and targets for the O&M Design & Implementation Team and wider business.
* Support the rollout of We Care programmes at a project level and in particular the Personal Choices programme and WE Care Awards where appropriate.
* Guide cultural engagement with project team and contractors to eliminate and reduce risks, develop HSE culture on site and adhere to HSE standards and rules.
* Manage HSE metrics and performance data of the O&M Design & Implementation Team and manage clear HSE processes & scope delivery between O&M Design & Implementation team members and their HSSE counterparts at each project phase between pre-bid & COD.
* Attend meetings, site visits and technology reviews with sub-contractors & clients concerning O&M Design & Implementation Team scope delivery as directed by the Head of HSE Offshore Operations and/or Team Lead HSE Offshore Operations, United Kingdom (UK)/Continental Europe (CE).
Job requirements and experience:
* Health and Safety management qualification in any of the operating countries (DK/GER/SWE/UK). Equivalent to the UKNEBOSH Certificate.
* Environmental management qualification in any of the operating countries (DK/GER/SWE/UK). Equivalent to the UK, IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management.
* Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a certifiable HSE Management System meeting ISO standards 45001 & 14001.
* Relevant background HSE Manager, with a few years of experience in the offshore wind industry.
* Deep understanding and established operational experience of HSE management and marine operations.
* Ability to build effective working relationships globally, with stakeholders at all levels through verbal and written communication including active listening skills.
* Awareness and/or willingness to learn global HSE regulations in countries in which RWE Offshore are based, with the support of local HSE-responsible.
* Experience as an HSE professional with good knowledge of CDM.
* Be able to display a flexible, practical and proactive approach to managing operational HSE demands.
* To have effective organisational skills and a consistent, systematic, forward-thinking and pragmatic approach. Able to work in busy environments and team-oriented.
* The individual will be expected to regularly travel and work offshore for short/limited occasional periods.
* Experience in renewable technologies and mechanical, electrical and technical systems, process engineering and advising on HSE technical matters relating to these.
Advantageous but not essential:
* Experience in behavioural safety techniques and delivering behavioural safety training.
