The Work Shop are delighted to be recruiting for a well-established metal distributor as an Operations Assistant/Administrator based in Longbridge B31.
The Role of Operations Assistant/Administrator (Logistics)
To work closely with the Operations team within the Logistics department and assist all members to ensure smooth and efficient running of the function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Allocation of inventory to sales order.
2. Assist with the production and receiving of shipping activities and the Goods In process.
3. Assist with the management of the line to stock.
4. Assist with the development of the operations production plan by coordinating requirements with sales, purchasing, and logistics functions.
5. Manage telephone queries and issues to ensure on-time delivery.
6. Manage open order reports.
7. General Administration as and when required using MS Office.
8. Adherence to the documented processes and procedures.
9. Loading of contract orders.
Competencies Operations Assistant/Administrator (Logistics)
Educated to A Level standard.
Customer service: Providing appropriate assistance and advice before and after to those who buy or use our products or services.
Problem solving & creative thinking: Making decisions and solving problems involving varying levels of complexity, ambiguity, and risk.
Computer skills: Tech literate - the ability to use systems and programmes such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Language skills: Ability to listen, speak, read, and write in English.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. Excellent experience of logistics ideal but not essential.
2. Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Customer service skills – internal and external.
5. Good IT skills including creating and analysing spreadsheets.
6. Good team player.
The Package you will receive for Operations Assistant/Administrator (Logistics)
1. Salary – up to £27,500.
2. Longbridge office.
3. Office based - 5 days per week. 8:30am – 5pm.
4. 23 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 28 with service.
