Job description This is a new role in the MOD Cloud delivery team with responsibility for Cyber Security across the MOD Cloud environments at Official and Secret, encompassing public cloud environments (including AWS, Azure and Oracle), along with private and community cloud environments. You will manage a team consisting of Security Leads who advise on Secure by Design, and security risk management, as well as the MOD Cloud Security operations centre team. Responsibilities As the head of cyber Security for MOD cloud you will be responsible for; The cyber security of the MOD Cloud platform eco-system. Acting as primary point of contact on Cyber Security issues with key stakeholders, including external parties, and actively develop strong working relationships in relation to Cyber Security. Managing MOD Cloud security leads operating using the Secure by Design methodology (NIST 800). Champion learning, development and accreditation, cultivate talent and foster an inclusive, diverse and motivated workforce within the MOD Cloud SOC team. Managing live security incidents, and washup / closedown actions. Ensuring the MOD Cloud Senior Responsible Owner is regularly appraised of appropriate risks and mittigations. Working closely with other MOD Cloud teams, including DevSecOps, Service Management and Design teams to ensure platform integrity. Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and third-party vendors. Leadership & Management: Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing security teams, including coaching, mentoring, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of security engineering principles, including Secure by Design methodologies (e.g., NIST 800) and DevSecOps practices.
