Full-Time Job: Hospitality, Events & Tourism
Cabana Servers are responsible for waiting on private cabana customers, while providing excellent customer service and courteous, friendly guest interactions. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a customer service focused attitude and a commitment to ensuring the highest standard of service to provide a positive guest experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and escort them to their cabana.
2. Protect establishment and patrons by strictly adhering to company policy as well as all state/local Health Department regulations sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
3. Maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.
4. Be pleasant and conversant with guests and provide general park knowledge, as needed.
5. Present menus to guests and promote specials and/or specialty house drinks.
6. Check guest identification to ensure that they meet the minimum age requirement for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
7. Accurately take food and drink orders for cabana guests and/or explain how to mobile order.
8. Serve cabana guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
9. Periodically check on guests to ensure all needs and expectations are being met.
10. Continuously monitor guests for potential intoxication and determine when alcohol service should cease.
11. Assist bartenders with drink preparation, when needed.
12. Adhere to all bar related safety training protocols.
13. Utilize Point of Sale (POS) and registers to accurately run tabs, prepare checks, and successfully record all financial transactions.
14. Sanitize and clean cabana areas, tables, and surrounding bar areas to ensure cabanas remain presentable to guests.
15. Execute nightly closing procedures, including the cleaning of cabanas, tables, chairs, refrigerators and surrounding areas.
16. Promptly escalate any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or emergencies to the proper authorities.
17. Cabana Servers will be cross-trained as Bartenders to assist as needed.
18. All other duties assigned by leadership.
Education and Experience:
1. There are no minimum educational requirements for this position.
2. Previous server experience a plus but not required.
3. Previous experience with alcoholic beverage serving and associated regulations would be helpful.
4. Must be Bartender/Server Certified (TIPS, RAMP, I-PACT, or similar) or become so within 30 days of hire, when required by state and local guidelines.
5. Must become Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or become so within 30 days of hire, when required by state and local guidelines.
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Wisconsin Child Labor Laws.
2. Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close.
3. Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift.
4. Ability to comply with all uniform policies.
5. Ability to refrain from on-the-job consumption of alcohol.
6. Must possess safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all state, and local beverage preparation and serving regulations.
7. Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner.
8. Ability to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfaction.
9. Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plus.
10. Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday.
2. Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
3. Ability to remain sedentary for periods of time, while using a computer or POS.
4. Ability to withstand heat and humidity from food preparation equipment.
5. Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more.
6. Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools.
7. Ability to use step stools, as needed.
Working Conditions:
1. This role will be predominantly based within the outdoor cabana areas, with some exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments.
2. Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, pollen and other weather conditions.
3. Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments.
4. Subject to frequent handling of cleaning chemicals and detergents.
5. Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities.
