Job Summary
Education in transfusion, across England, is critical to delivering long term improvements in patient care.
This role within the Transfusion Clinical team provides a new opportunity to provide support to the Clinical Lead in Transfusion Education, throughout England.
The post holder will provide support for the clinical lead and input into transfusion education and development of education on behalf of NHSBT.
This will include:
* Being integral to the delivery of the clinical educational aspects of the Transfusion Transformation strategy, the Blood 2027 Strategy and the Infected Blood Inquiry.
* Playing a pivotal role in development of new education strategies within NHSBT and other strategies where education of medical and allied professionals is relevant
* Helping raise the profile of medical education in NHSBT
* Working with Leadership, Culture and Performance (LCP) to ensure that mandatory training is appropriate for medical staff and proportionate to their role.
* Leading projects under the guidance of the Clinical Lead to enable new educational opportunities and to ensure all medical educators within NHSBT are fully supported
* Identifying and monitor funding streams for Postgraduate Doctors in Training (PGiT) posts, specialty doctor and associate specialists between NHS England (NHSE) and NHSBT in collaboration with the LCP and finance departments
* Supporting the Clinical Governance Lead for Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME).
