The Role
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee all aspects of production activity on site. This role involves working closely with the Creative Producer and managing the production team to coordinate the ongoing creative development of the park alongside balancing the regular maintenance that is required to keep all areas of the park and workshop safe, operational and at a high standard of presentation for our visitors at all times.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & HR Management
● Oversee and provide line management for all members of the Production Team (Technical and Props).
● Handle all HR administration, including performance management, scheduling, and professional development.
Budget & Resource Management
● Manage the Production Budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
● Source and purchase necessary materials to maintain workflow and meet project deadlines.
● Oversee the safe disposal of waste products generated by the Production Team.
Scheduling & Coordination
● Develop and manage the monthly department rota, ensuring adequate coverage during opening hours and events.
● Plan and communicate all production schedules and maintenance works to the wider team.
● Assign and prioritise maintenance tasks, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
Safety & Compliance
● Ensure all production elements (Props & Technical) are safe and operational at all times.
● Maintain and enforce safe working practices, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations.
● Ensure all safety audits are carried out and up to date on Smart Log.
● Work with the Senior Team to keep all H&S documentation up to date for production activities.
● Oversee contractors working on-site, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
● Ensure the COSHH register is maintained and conducts COSHH assessments for hazardous substances.
● Open and close the building as and when required.
Production & Maintenance Oversight
● Manage ongoing production projects, including upgrades and development initiatives.
● Continuously monitor the site, ensuring preventative and ad-hoc maintenance is carried out efficiently.
● Ensure all production equipment is well maintained and assets are accurately recorded.
Collaboration & Event Support
● Attend the weekly management meeting.
● Support the planning and execution of events and additional programming in collaboration with other teams.
Skills
Essential:
● Management Experience: Minimum 3+ years in a management role within a production-based environment.
● Production & Design Knowledge: understanding of production processes and creative design workflows.
● Budget & Financial Management: Proven experience in budget management with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
● Project & Time Management: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines effectively.
● Strong Communication & Organisation: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
● Health & Safety Awareness: Good understanding of H&S regulations relevant to production work.
● Driving & Flexibility: Full, clean driving license and willingness to work occasional overtime during production install weeks.
Desirable:
● Passion for Immersive Experiences: Interest in location-based entertainment, including immersive experiences, theme parks, and theatre.
● Industry Network: Access to a network of creatives, scenic artists, technicians, and designers.
● Health & Safety Certification: Formal H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are a plus.
● Technical & Design Software: Familiarity with 3D design and creative software, such as Blender, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or Cinema 4D.
