A unique vacancy has arisen for a dynamic Healthcare Assistant to join the Urgent Treatment Centre at Ripley Hospital. You will be required to undertake various patient clinical procedures in order to assist registered clinicians to deliver agreed pathways as part of the ongoing Urgent Care Agenda. You will support registered clinicians in the initial assessment of patients attending the unit. The role of the HCA is pivotal to delivering excellence in Urgent Care and the successful candidate is expected to be supported in delivering hands on care to our patients under the supervision of registered practitioners, whilst undertaking an expanded scope of duties. To maintain standards, ensuring quality of patient care through the development of a range of knowledge & competencies to support Clinicians. To support and ensure the effective seamless flow of patients through the Urgent Treatment Centre. Responsibility for a specific area of work that is facilitated by the registered nurse. To assist Clinicians with the provision of a high standard of individualised patient care and treatments where appropriate and work as an effective multi-disciplinary team member of the UTC Team. To carry out individual patient care without direct supervision, under the direction of the clinician-in-charge. Understands and observes appropriate standards of confidentiality. At all times to behave and act in a way appropriate to and in accordance with "The DCHS Way".,
* To undertake various patient clinical procedures in order to assist registered clinicians to deliver agreed pathways, as part of the ongoing Urgent Care Agenda.
* To make initial assessment of patients attending the unit and referral to a registered clinician whenever needed.
* To provide care and assistance in such a manner that the service users individuality, dignity and privacy are respected where this does not compromise safety.
* To provide care in accordance with individual service users care plans.
* To promptly report all observed changes in service users conditions, accidents, incidents and other important information to Clinician in Charge and take action as directed.
* To assist qualified staff in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of staff, service users and visitors in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy.
* To maintain a high standard of personal behaviour and maintain professional relationships with service users, their families and staff team members.
* To complete documentation as appropriate and directed by the Clinician in Charge.
* For special duties, may work without supervision of a qualified clinician in specific tasks at the discretion of the Clinician in Charge
