We are currently looking for a Accounts Assistant to join our team in our award-winning business in Auchincruive, Ayr. This position is based onsite and is a temporary role for 6 months .

What you’ll be doing:
1. Processing purchase invoices in the accounting system (Sage 200).
2. Ensuring 3-way matching electronically of purchase orders, goods receipt notes and purchase invoices.
3. Ensuring accuracy of PO/invoice coding/matching/authorisation.
4. Validating outstanding POs/invoice queries.
5. Supplier Statement reconciliations.
6. Pro-actively resolving invoice variances/queries with suppliers and operations.
7. Coding non-PO invoices and ensuring all invoices are duly authorised.
8. Performing regular housekeeping checks and ensure ledgers are tidy.
9. Dealing with auditor requests.
10. Working to meet deadlines in accordance with month-end closedown timetable.
11. Answering telephone calls, redirecting calls and taking messages.
12. Assisting visitors to the business, ensuring they follow correct procedures for signing in.
About you:
13. You’ll have excellent communication skills.
14. You’ll be able to work to tight deadlines.
15. You’ll be proficient in Microsoft packages.
16. Having previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role would be advantageous.
17. Having knowledge of SAGE systems would be helpful, however training will be provided.
18. A qualification in administration and/or accounts would be desirable.
