Short Job Description
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will have a Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering Degree and be either a Member or have applied for the Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or The Geological Society.
You will have experience in geotechnical inspection, ground investigation, monitoring, assessment, design, and stabilisation of earth structures, as well as the design of foundations, retaining walls, and earthworks in a railway and road environment, preferably gained on the TfL network or other similar transport networks within the UK.
Knowledge of legislation, technical standards, and industry best practices related to earth structures and geotechnical engineering is essential. Ability to use key geotechnical design software Slope/W is essential, and other software such as Wallap, Repute, Plaxis, and others is desirable.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally is essential. The ability to build effective working relationships with people at all levels across the organisation and externally is desirable.
Ability to plan, implement, and manage work activities to deliver on time, within budget, and to quality standards is essential.
