The Directorate of Public Health’s Health Improvement Team co-ordinates and leads work to support the health improvement agenda. We work in close partnership with the local authorities, third sector and other community planning partners. The post holder will contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of evidence-based activities with the overall aim of improving the health and wellbeing of communities in Tayside and reducing health inequalities. A degree, or equivalent in a relevant discipline and experience of working in health improvement or a related area is required. The post holder will require an understanding of the health improvement policy agenda, have good project management skills and experience of partnership working. Training, facilitation and group work skills are required as are research and evaluation and IT skills. The post holder should possess skills in communicating complex health messages to specific audiences using a range of media. Some experience of working within workplace health and wellbeing and financial inclusion and / or Financial Inclusion, Physical Activity, Mental Health & Substance Use or Tobacco Control would be of advantage as this role will involve working closely with these priority areas as well as the potential to work collaboratively across other areas within the Directorate. The post holder will be required to travel to cover duties throughout a wide geographical area. 34.53 hours per week (workable over 5 days per week, Monday to Friday).
