Role Overview: Yard Foreman
As a Yard Foreman at Wernick Hire, your role is pivotal in the efficient operation of our busy depot. You will oversee all yard activities, ensuring the smooth repair, refurbishment, and fit-out of modular buildings and cabins. With a focus on health and safety, you'll lead by example, managing a team of yard employees to maintain high standards of quality and safety at all times.

About the role
Key Responsibilities:
* Repair and refurbish cabins/buildings to AQPG standards.
* Ensure security of workshop, hire yard, and stock.
* Conduct safety checks on equipment and train staff accordingly.
* Lead and motivate the team for productivity and safety.
* Manage stock and ensure readiness of welfare units for hire.
* Mentor junior staff and apprentices.
* Prepare cabins/buildings for delivery meeting customer requirements.
* Complete and submit company documentation accurately and timely.
* Coordinate with Depot Manager to ensure timely order completion.
* Inspect cabins/buildings pre- and post-delivery for quality and damages.
* Manage subcontractors and negotiate with suppliers.
* Minimize material wastage and ensure safe handling of materials.
* Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of workshop and yard.
* Attend training and work in accordance with safety procedures.
* Work additional hours as required and adhere to health & safety legislation.
Who we are looking for:
* Experience in cabin fitting or modular building fit-out (preferred).
* Management or supervisory experience.
* Ability to delegate work effectively.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Skills in plumbing, joinery, and electrical work.
* Full driving license.
* Resilient, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
