Applicants must be 18 and over to apply.
1. To participate in the work of the Nursing Home and, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provide care to the resident’s, responding to their physical, mental and spiritual needs.
2. To maintain confidentiality and have regard for the residents’ privacy and dignity.
3. To help care for residents who are terminally ill.
4. To monitor residents’ conditions and report any changes to Registered Nurses as necessary.
5. To monitor residents’ nutritional and dietary requirements.
6. To help with the organisation of social activities and to participate in them. Help to promote residents’ physical and mental well-being. To accompany residents on community visits where required and as duty rotas permit.
7. To help serve food and drinks, assisting residents with eating and drinking as required. To prepare light meals and snacks if required, liaison with kitchen staff as necessary. To help clear up the dining room after meals, ensuring all dirty cutlery, crockery and utensils are returned to the kitchen.
8. To participate in training activities/courses including fire lectures etc as directed by senior staff.
9. To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home with due regard to appropriate food hygiene and health and safety regulations. To report all accidents to Registered Nurses. Use equipment appropriately and correctly at all times and report any faults/failures on discovery.
10. Be familiar with and comply with all company policies and procedures.
11. To answer the telephone in a professional manner.
12. Document all care given onto the epicare/touchcare system.
13. Work within the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Assistants.
14. Understand your role and responsibilities with regard to the protection of vulnerable adults.
15. Attend staff and floor meetings.
16. Participate in clinical supervision sessions and appraisals.
17. Deliver care using a Person Centre approach.
18. Be aware of GDPR responsibilities.
