Aspire People are thrilled to be recruiting on behalf of a dynamic Alternative Provision in Nuneaton, dedicated to supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCo to join their team. This is a non-teaching role, allowing the successful candidate to focus entirely on the coordination and management of SEN provisions within the AP. The SENCo will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to support our students with SEMH needs, ensuring they receive the highest quality of education and care.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee the implementation of the school's SEN policy.
Coordinate and manage SEN provision across the school.
Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide tailored support for students with SEMH needs.
Conduct assessments and monitor the progress of students with SEN.
Ensure that the school is compliant with all statutory SEN regulations and guidelines.
Provide training and support for staff on SEN and inclusive practices.
Liaise with parents and guardians to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a SENCo role, ideally within an alternative provision setting.
In-depth knowledge of SEMH needs and appropriate support strategies.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to foster a supportive learning environment.
