Job overview
This role will involve the diagnosis and management of paediatric and adult ocular motility patients, including patients from the Emergency Eye clinic, Maxillofacial and Neurology. This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop into extended roles. You will be taking an extended role in subspecialty within ophthalmology and will be fully supported using the new OCCCF by internal consultants and management.

Main duties of the job
This is a part-time role at 31 hours per week permanent role
Main duties will include providing Orthoptic services as an autonomous practitioner, assessing, diagnosing and managing patients referred to the Orthoptic Department with evidence-based practice, determining clinical diagnoses and developing management plans, and walking patients through discharge plans.
If successful, the post holder will form part of the clinical team providing a full range of Orthoptic care to patients.

Qualifications
* Registered Orthoptist with HCPC
* Qualified in Orthoptics- Degree or Diploma
Experience
* Ophthalmology Knowledge and Experience
* Managing Clinical audit, clinical governance, Infection Prevention and Control, and research for the department
* Management of patients in hospital settings
