Primary Purpose of Position
A full-time permanent vacancy has arisen within our Legal Department. Working: Monday to Friday 8:30am –5:00pm. The role does not offer Qualifying Work Experience under the SQE route and it is not a path to qualification.
A Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the organisations legal and regulatory functions. Their primary purpose is to assist in ensuring that the company operates within legal and ethical boundaries by supporting compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining legal documents, contracts and agreements.
* Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
* Support compliance monitoring processes to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
* Maintain accurate records and filing systems for legal and compliance documents.
* Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence related to compliance matters.
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
* Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
* Monitor changes in legal and regulatory requirements and assist in updating company policies accordingly.
* Provide administrative support to the legal and compliance team as needed.
* Adapt to evolving responsibilities as the company grows and compliance needs expand.
Person Specification
* Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration or a related field preferred.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across departments.
* Experience in the use of all Microsoft Office packages, in particular Microsoft Word.
* Experience in Administration.
* Basic understanding of legal terminology and regulatory compliance principles.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
