Together we are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Management Accountant to join the team at a time of significant growth and evolution. You will be instrumental in supporting both operational and transactional financial processes, ensuring month-end and annual reporting cycles are completed efficiently. As a key liaison for audits, budget holders, and management, you will also help maintain strong governance practices. The Role
The Management Accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial processes while helping to implement improved practices as the business evolves.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assisting with year-end accounts preparation and reporting.
2. Developing and presenting financial and non-financial data as needed.
3. Planning and prioritising your workload to meet tight deadlines, often under changing circumstances.
4. Overseeing key finance activities, including budgeting, variance analysis, and credit control.
5. Performing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and managing general ledger updates.
6. Resolving complex customer queries, requiring tact, professionalism, and occasional conflict resolution.
7. Driving improvements in finance systems and reporting to support company growth.
This role offers hands-on experience in financial operations, with opportunities to work closely with senior team members and contribute meaningfully to the business.
Location
Based on-site in Walsall, with hybrid flexibility available following probation.
Minimum Requirements
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, such as Assistant Management Accountant.
* Currently part-qualified or actively working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT/IFA).
* Familiarity with basic accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
* Proficient in Excel and confident with IT tools, including Outlook and Word.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to manage sensitive data with confidentiality and adapt to changing priorities.
* Previous experience in managing customer queries, sales invoicing, and purchase ledgers would be advantageous.
* Experience using Xero software is preferred but not mandatory.
