For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers, and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists. Much of our success is thanks to the diversity of thought and spectrum of skill sets held within the team; our ability to recognise unique contributions from individual team members is just a part of why we love what we do.
Job Description
Red Bull Racing is at the forefront of Formula One, where cutting-edge technology meets top-tier performance. Our pursuit of excellence on the track is matched only by our passion for innovation and talent off it. We are seeking a CAM Programming Manager for the Machine Shop team. * Act as the first contact for the department to troubleshoot program-related machine and manufacturing issues.
* Provide feedback via Production Engineering on manufacturing issues and improvement suggestions to reduce cost or lead-time.
* Ensure the quality of programs produced, verifying that all appropriate processes are carried out, and that any deviations from specification are identified and corrected prior to posting to the machine, with relevant communication and reports of any potential delays supplied to the Machining Group Leader.
* Maintain good communication with all shift personnel, the Nightshift Chargehand, Manufacturing Engineer, and other shift leaders to enable effective work transfer from shift to shift.
* Utilise programming best practices to produce programs, liaising with the Machining Group Leader and Machinists.
* Administer company policies and procedures consistently, seeking advice where appropriate.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in managing and motivating a team.
* Confident communicator with the proven ability to set clear, achievable objectives, goals, strategies, and measures.
* Experience in programming using NX for a variety of multi-axis machining centres with Heidenhain or Siemens NC Code and Controls.
* Demonstrable experience of 5-axis programming in metallic, composite, or pattern material backgrounds.
* Proven experience in Veri-cut simulations software.
* Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
* Tight tolerance working skills.
* Conscientious and methodical approach.
* Ability to work in a high-pressure, team environment and to be self-motivated to meet tight deadlines.
* Flexibility to work additional shifts as required.
* Actively support the Apprentice training programme.
