The following are the core responsibilities of the PCN General Practitioner: Delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population of the PCN member practices. As part of the same day teams, the effective management of on the day presentations, this may include telephone triage, face to face consultations, online consultations, home visiting and care home visits. Work collaboratively with staff of the member practices, PCN employees and with the wider health and social care team. Provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance and individual practice formularies (where applicable). Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required. Participate in clinical governance and training requirements of the member practices. Adhere to PCN and practice protocols and policies. Commit to self-learning and contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practices. Ensure compliance with the annual appraisal process. Prepare for, and complete, the 5-yearly revalidation process. Use resources appropriately.
