About the role
Reporting to the Housekeeping Management team, you will have daily operational responsibilities for the smooth running of housekeeping across our lodges and retreats. This is a fun, hands-on, varied, and fast-paced role leading a team of experienced housekeepers to achieve and maintain 5-star standards of cleaning and presentation across our 30 lodges and 14 retreats to delight our guests on arrival and throughout their stay with us.
In this role, you will:
1. Lead the housekeeping team in lodges and retreats to deliver 5-star cleaning standards.
2. Ensure that all properties are maintained to the highest standard and that any faults are promptly communicated to the maintenance team.
3. Observe the team to ensure that they are completing work in line with health and safety procedures and department SOPs.
4. Ensure that all tasks are completed on time to allow for smooth operation of arrivals and guest check-in times.
5. Support the housekeeping management team and hotel head housekeepers to plan staffing levels to ensure resource is matched with business levels.
6. Ensure that the team has the right equipment and materials to complete their daily tasks in the most effective way.
To be a good fit for this role you will:
1. Have experience as a team leader, assistant/head housekeeper, or assistant housekeeping manager in a large 4/5-star property.
2. Understand the standards that our guests expect and strive to achieve and exceed them on a daily basis.
3. Demonstrate the ability to train, lead, and work alongside your team on a daily basis.
4. Enjoy creating a fun and positive work environment where everyone feels included and valued.
5. Have great communication skills.
6. Have a good level of physical fitness and enjoy working in a physically active role.
7. Hold a valid driving license.
Work schedule is 5 days from 7, 9 am to 5 pm. Weekend working will be required.
