We are seeking a dedicated and qualifiedSEN Primary Teacher (QTS)to join an amazing ASD school in a supportive primary and secondary SEND school in Romford.About the RoleIn this exciting role, you'll support students with diverse needs, includingAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) ,Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), and sensory challenges. The class currently has 6pupils, with a capacity of 9, and two new students expected after Easter.
Pupils are working ata lower level then expected, and you will deliver atailored curriculumdesigned to support their educational, social, and emotional growth. This is a unique opportunity for anSEN Primary Teacherto join a dedicated team inRomfordand help create a nurturing learning environment.Key Responsibilities:As theSEN Primary or Secondary Teacher, you will:
Collaborate withtwo TAs and HLTAsto provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Deliver amulti-sensory curriculumthat caters to various learning styles and abilities.
Support pupils with sensory needs, including those on asensory dietand using tools likevisual aids, phonics, and Makaton .
Work with students withASD ,SpLD, challenging behaviours, and complex needs, including those recovering from strokes.
UseZones of Regulationstrategies to help students manage emotions and behaviours.
LeadAnnual Reviewsand work closely with professionals to implement EHCPs and ongoing support plans.
Benefit fromlong-term planningalready established for the first two terms, with guidance from ateacher buddy .Essential Criteria:We are looking for someone who:
HoldsQualified Teacher Status (QTS)and has experience working with students with sensory needs.
Has a proven track record of delivering amulti-sensory curriculum .
Has worked with pupils withASD, SpLD, and challenging behaviours.
Is familiar with tools likeTeam Teach (preferred), visual aids, phonics, andMakaton .
Has experience withZones of Regulationand supporting students with complex needs, including those recovering from medical conditions like strokes.
