Your next role
We are looking for an Administration Officer responsible for letting vacant garages and efficiently collecting garage income. You must be enthusiastic, a team player, and able to work under pressure to achieve targets.
What’s the role all about?
1. Manage all 3,000 council garage tenancies and let vacant garages.
2. Support with queries related to garages, rent, and former tenant arrears in the absence of colleagues.
3. Monitor and review accounts regularly, progress arrears, and take appropriate recovery actions.
4. Serve notices to end garage agreements for rent arrears when necessary.
5. Prepare basic performance reports for monitoring purposes.
6. Ensure customer account information is accurate, with detailed case notes and records of actions taken regarding arrears.
7. Liaise with internal colleagues and external agencies, including void turnaround and repairs.
8. Maintain the garage waiting list, process applications, and carry out checks.
9. Prepare and request write-offs for garage accounts, ensuring policy adherence and best practices.
Applicants should have previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in social housing or income recovery, with a strong customer focus. Excellent communication, negotiation skills, IT proficiency, attention to detail, and a good work ethic are essential. Fluency in English is required for effective customer interaction.
