About The Role
EAST KILBRIDE
Day and Waken Night shifts
Let us introduce you to Ryan:
Ryan is a lively, likeable young man who enjoys engaging with his staff. He has Autism Spectrum Disorder and a learning disability, requiring additional support with day-to-day living. His team supports him with personal care, Positive Behaviour Support, and working towards his individual goals and outcomes. At times, Ryan can become anxious and upset, and he needs his team to help him during these moments. Ryan enjoys activities such as going for walks, drives, visiting parks, and playing games at home, especially Lego and jigsaws.
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) play a crucial role within ENABLE Scotland by making a positive difference in the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same, but you will be supporting Ryan to achieve his goals!
Ryan needs the people who support him to:
* Be resilient and calm
* Have a good sense of humour
* Be able to work to strict guidelines and procedures
* Take pride in delivering a high standard of care
* Be equally comfortable supporting him outdoors or having a quiet day at home
He has a dedicated staff team, supported by five personal assistants and a team facilitator on each shift. Therefore, you need to be a keen team player who can effectively communicate with others. While experience is not required, an understanding of Autism and experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities would be advantageous.
