Calling all coffee enthusiasts! We’re seeking a full-time Manager/Barista to join us from Tuesday to Saturday.
* Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out.
* You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services, and recommend solutions.
* A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and you will contribute to Grandbies’s long-term success.
Staff Management and Development:
* Hiring: Recruiting and onboarding new staff members, such as baristas, kitchen staff, and cleaning personnel.
* Training: Ensuring that all staff are properly trained on coffee preparation, customer service, safety protocols, and the use of equipment.
* Scheduling: Creating employee schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels during peak and off-peak hours.
* Performance Management: Providing feedback to staff, conducting performance reviews, and addressing any performance issues.
* Team Building: Fostering a positive, collaborative work environment to encourage staff morale and productivity.
Customer Service:
* Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring that all customers have a positive experience through excellent service, handling complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
* Product Quality: Maintaining high standards for the quality of food, beverages, and overall service.
* Product Recommendations: Assisting customers with menu choices and making personalized recommendations.
Inventory and Supplies Management:
* Inventory Control: Monitoring and managing inventory to ensure that the coffee shop is always well-stocked with coffee beans, milk, pastries, cleaning supplies, and other essentials.
* Ordering Supplies: Coordinating orders for new stock and ensuring timely deliveries to avoid shortages.
* Waste Management: Minimizing waste by properly managing stock levels and rotating inventory.
Financial Management:
* Budgeting and Cost Control: Creating and managing the coffee shop’s budget, controlling expenses, and maximizing profits. This may include managing labor costs, food and drink costs, and operational costs.
* Cash Handling: Overseeing the cash register, ensuring accurate cash handling, and maintaining security procedures for cash.
* Pricing Strategy: Setting prices for menu items based on cost analysis, competition, and customer demographics.
* Sales Analysis: Monitoring sales trends, tracking profitability, and implementing strategies to increase sales (e.g., promotions, upselling).
Health and Safety Compliance:
* Food Safety: Ensuring that all food and drink items meet local health and safety regulations, including proper food storage, handling, and preparation procedures.
* Sanitation: Maintaining cleanliness in both front-of-house and back-of-house areas. This includes regular cleaning schedules for equipment, countertops, and seating areas.
* Regulations: Keeping up to date with local laws regarding food service, health codes, and labor laws.
Marketing and Community Engagement:
* Promotions: Creating and implementing marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones, such as loyalty programs, discounts, or special events.
* Social Media Management: Managing the coffee shop’s social media presence, including posting updates, responding to customer inquiries, and engaging with the community.
* Local Networking: Building relationships with local businesses and customers to increase the shop's presence and customer base.
Operational Efficiency:
* Workflow Optimization: Ensuring that all operations in the coffee shop run smoothly, from taking orders to preparing drinks and serving customers, minimizing wait times, and avoiding bottlenecks.
* Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and repaired when necessary.
* Technology Integration: Utilizing point-of-sale systems, ordering software, or other technology to streamline operations and improve customer experience.
Business Strategy and Growth:
* Menu Development: Reviewing and revising the menu to reflect customer preferences, seasonal trends, and cost considerations.
* Expansion Planning: If applicable, contributing to plans for expanding the business, whether that involves adding more locations, offering delivery services, or introducing new product lines.
* Profitability Analysis: Continuously assessing and adjusting the business model to maximize profitability, including optimizing staffing, pricing, and product offerings.
Problem Solving and Crisis Management:
* Conflict Resolution: Addressing conflicts between employees, customers, or suppliers and finding amicable solutions.
* Emergency Response: Being prepared to handle unexpected issues, such as equipment failure, supply shortages, or accidents.

Weekends will be included and there will be an expectation to be on call for events that may take place throughout the year.
