Our client is Australia’s largest leading energy integrator, who has over 4.2 million customers in the electricity, gas, and LPG markets. They are currently Australia’s largest exporter of LNG to the Asian markets. Our client is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join their Cloud and Application Security project team, to work with various business units to design, implement and transition to a unified Cloud and Application security platform. The role is a unique 6-month contract opportunity, with extension opportunities available. The ideal candidate will be based in either Brisbane or Melbourne.
As the Cloud Security Engineer, you will work in a fast-paced environment to onboard the selected Cloud Native Application Platform Protection (CNAPP) product and integrate it with our clients hosting platforms (AWS and Azure) to enable identification of cloud, API and application risks and vulnerabilities. We are seeking motivated and experienced professionals who have a strong background working in a similar role.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Help develop the enterprise environment that will secure our clients cloud and application environment
2. Work with vendors, product owners and developers to implement the solution
3. Collaborate with the technical community within the company to ensure processes align with project delivered operational standards / controls and recommended secure configuration improvements identified by the platform.
4. Work as part of a team to implement a solution that will minimise risk to existing operations and work to identify and reduce future vulnerabilities and risk of security breaches across the business.
5. Contribute to the implementation of the CNAPP tooling across our cloud platforms predominantly on AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Microsoft Azure.
6. Communicate and work effectively with colleagues and customers, understanding key stakeholders by being responsive to their needs and impacts to their business.
7. Collaboration with cloud platform and technology teams to ensure that CNAPP capability is successfully integrated.
8. At least 5+ years of experience working in Cloud environments (AWS mandatory / Azure desirable).
9. Expertise in building infrastructure in AWS.
10. Understanding of AWS IAM.
11. Prior experience working on CNAPP security tooling.
12. Good communication skills: ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
13. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.
14. Configuring and tuning cloud security monitoring capabilities.
15. Understanding of findings management / vulnerability management.
16. Experience delivering security solutions across a complex cyber landscape.
17. Cloud native, with understanding of Agile & DevOps models and methodologies for operational environments.
18. Experience coding and/or scripting in Bash, Python, GitHub, CI/CD automation.
19. Good working knowledge of networks, cloud, and the way that modern applications operate in this landscape.
20. Experience collaborating with project teams (estimate effort, resourcing requirements, risks and issues).
21. Working knowledge of API security standards and best practice.
22. Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure).
