We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to cover for maternity leave to work collaboratively across the West Herts College Group, to support us to develop new and existing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to meet present and future national, regional, and local business needs.
You will have worked closely with employers and created sustainable and highly effective employer engagement models and identified their needs timely. The successful candidate will increase capacity for high quality on-the-job training, industry placements and T Levels. They will respond quickly to employers to fill their skills gaps.
The ideal candidate will have highly effective communication and organisational skills and substantial experience of working collaboratively with employers to promote in-demand careers and jobs to young people and adults.
A vital part of this role will be developing the professional skills, competencies, and attitudes with our students so that they are ready for the world of work.
You will be educated to degree level or have gained relevant and substantial experience in your current role. The postholder will be required to work across our Hemel, Luton, and Watford sites.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Working collaboratively across the WHCG and with a wide range of new and existing employers and other stakeholders, to meet present and future national, regional and local business needs. Working with senior leaders, employers and a wide range of stakeholders on a range of projects that develop best practice for effective employer engagement. Working closely in a team to create and develop educational solutions to meet local skills training needs. Developing industry-led engagement strategies to encourage alumni engagement across the college.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop new and existing relationships with employers and other stakeholders which develop an understanding of the local skills training needs
* Work with employers and curriculum experts to support the development of educational solutions
* Project manage new initiatives as required, from design through to implementation and evaluation
* Provide regular reports against agreed targets and milestones
* Create and implement a model for effective and sustainable employer engagement
* Develop and lead the alumni engagement across the college group to inspire and support learners with their intended destination
* Representing us at local business, networking, schools, and industry events as and when required
* Liaise as appropriate with college teams at all levels to ensure we provide a responsive service to all enquiries
* Support with increasing the capacity of On-the-Job training opportunities and Bravura activities
* Support on all employer projects and events across the group delivering an outstanding level of service leading to positive outcomes for employers, learners, and stakeholders
* Contribute to the maintenance and development of a central database of all employer contacts and details such as: placements and on-the-job training
* Contribute towards the Skillmakers initiative.
* To advise on policies and issues relating to destinations and labour market information
* Develop reports that monitor performance against Key Performance Indicators
* Work closely with MIS to ensure learners' records are accurate and meet ESFA funding and audit rules in relation to work experience and Industry Placements. Establish an audit process to carry out regular checks to ensure data is robust and credible.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all health & safety paperwork is completed for all placements.
* Supporting with building a network of alumni who can inspire and support learners with their intended destination
* Support events such as Open Days and Introduction Meetings.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will join us from January 2025 until 31st December 2025.
