Hartwell Abingdon The Senior Technical Advisor is responsible for overseeing the workshop team, coordinating workloads, ensuring repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently, and maintaining high customer service standards. They act as a liaison between the service advisors, technicians, parts and management to ensure smooth operations. Key Responsibilities: • Work Allocation & Supervision: • Assign jobs to technicians based on skill levels and workload. • Monitor progress of work and adjust schedules as needed. • Ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance. • Quality Control & Efficiency: • Oversee the quality of work carried out, ensuring it meets company and manufacturer standards. • Conduct final quality checks before vehicles are returned to customers. • Optimise productivity by reducing downtime and managing workflow effectively. • Customer Service & Communication: • Work closely with service advisors to keep customers informed about job progress, delays, or additional work needed. • Handle customer queries or complaints related to workshop operations. • Health & Safety Compliance: • Ensure workshop safety protocols are followed at all times. • Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment. • Equipment Management: • Ensure necessary tools and equipment are available and maintained. • Work towards achieving performance targets, such as efficiency and customer satisfaction scores. Key Skills & Requirements : • Previous experience in a workshop controller, Technician or Senior Service Advisor, or supervisory role within the automotive, industry. • Good technical knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. • Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Knowledge of health and safety regulations. • Familiarity with workshop management software is an advantage. • Full UK driving license.
