What you'll do
The M&A Senior Tax Manager has responsibility for providing international tax advice and support to the Group M&A team on Group M&A and related restructuring projects.
Reporting into the Head of Tax Structuring and M&A, the role holder will provide tax support and advice to business stakeholders on all aspects of cross-border or in-territory M&A transactions and activities, including tax due diligence, tax structuring, and related legal documentation - and management of external tax advisors.
The role requires a variety of UK and international tax advisory skills, including the practical application of international tax law, and excellent project management skills. The role will also require strong interpersonal and business partnering skills for establishing and maintaining good working relationships with relevant stakeholders, and excellent communication skills to clearly communicate key tax risks and opportunities to senior leaders. The role will suit someone who has already had an international tax role in Industry or at one of the 'Top 10' accountancy firms or large legal firms.
Whilst relevant M&A experience is important, the ability to influence stakeholders across the business, the willingness to drive projects forward and deal with issues to their conclusion, together with a range of good interpersonal skills and a desire to grow and develop in this dynamic and fast-moving tax department are vital for this candidate.
Who you are
1. M&A activity: Advises on appropriate strategies for M&A deals to achieve commercial aims in a tax efficient manner.
2. Tax structuring: Implements efficient tax strategies to mitigate taxes on structuring and financing projects.
3. Tax advice: Provide ad hoc tax advice to relevant group and local teams.
4. Tax knowledge sharing: Ensures relevant knowledge updates and sharing as appropriate across the tax community.
5. Reporting and compliance: Work related to Group M&A transactions and activities.

What's in it for you?
1. Experience of working in a complex environment across multiple teams.
2. International corporate tax experience (including application of Double Tax Treaties, foreign tax regimes etc.) gained from working for at least 5-7 years either within an accountancy firm or large legal firm, or within a large MNC in industry.
3. Management and influencing skills (written and verbal) demonstrating an ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams at all levels of the organisation, including senior stakeholders.
4. Self-motivated and hard-working individual, with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
5. General accounting knowledge.
6. Strong written, presentational and communication skills.
7. ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified.
8. Over 5 years post qualified experience in tax roles.
