School Cover Supervisor/Administrator
V-Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UK's most forward-thinking, recognised and respected Multi-Academy Trusts to recruit a School Cover Team Administration Assistant/Cover Supervisor for one of their Secondary academies, based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
This is a temporary vacancy in the first instance, with some potential to be ongoing/permanent, required from as soon as possible.
Working Hours: 35-40 hours per week, 40 weeks per year, £12 per hour, plus holiday pay after the first 12 weeks. Working hours are 7.15am-3pm, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes lunch per day. Overtime will potentially be available and required.
We can accommodate solely the admin role, without the cover supervisor requirements, but this would be 1 hour per day, 7.15am-8.15am.
Responsibilities:
1. Organising cover for all absent staff on both a planned and reactive basis.
2. Monitor absence calls to the absence line, record absent staff appropriately, and share with the HR team.
3. Liaise with supply agencies to arrange suitable cover for short and long term absences, including administering the recruitment process.
4. Ensure there are no gaps in the timetable or uncovered lessons.
5. Ensure the most suitably qualified/experienced staff are covering a given lesson.
6. Input cover and absence onto SIMS internal system.
7. Authorise and complete timesheets for agency staff, ensuring the internal finance system is updated accordingly.
8. Record any feedback from the school and pass over to the agency.
9. Ensure cover and absence-related forms are readily available for staff and completed forms are processed correctly.
10. Deal with cover-related queries in a timely, efficient manner.
11. Liaise with Cover Supervisors regarding any changes of arrangements and updates.
The chosen candidate will be personable, confident, and professional, taking pride in all aspects of their work. This will be a fast-paced, varied role which would suit someone with a strong administrative background. Ideally, some experience within an educational setting would be advantageous, but full training will be given to the chosen candidate.
