Join the Northern Ireland Housing Executive as a Contact Officer (Grants) and play a crucial role in supporting private housing schemes aimed at improving living conditions and enabling people with disabilities to live independently. About the role:
* Contact Officer (Grants)
* Location: Newry
* Hourly Rate: £11.98 per hour
* Hours: 37 hrs per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
* Contract: Temporary, Ongoing
* Holidays: 35 days pro rata

Key Responsibilities:
* Customer Contact: Handle customer enquiries, provide advice on grants, and ensure timely communication
* Documentation: Accurately record and file all documentation electronically, adhering to policies and procedures.
* Grant Administration: Offer guidance on eligibility criteria and process applications and complaints related to various grant schemes.
* Coordination: Arrange site visits, inspections, and follow-ups, ensuring customers are kept informed with written confirmations.
* Data Management: Use the bespoke Grants CRM and Microsoft Office suite to manage and retrieve data, ensuring accuracy.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with your team to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to continuous improvement within the Grants service.
* Development & Continuous Improvement: Support the review and update of business systems and processes to enhance service performance.
* Assist the management team in updating standard operating procedures.
* Participate in internal and external meetings and take accurate minutes when required.
Criteria: Applicants must demonstrate by the closing date that they meet one of the following criteria
* 2 A Levels (Level 3*) with 1 year of relevant experience.
* OR 5 GCSEs (Level 2*) including Maths and English (Grade C or above) with 2 years of relevant experience.
* OR 3 years’ experience in a customer-focused administrative role with evidence of ongoing learning or training.
Experience:
* Experience in customer service, including call handling.
* Proficiency in using management information systems.
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
* As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
