As the Ward Manager, your role is to support our service as it evolves to meet the needs of our patient population. We are looking for an influential and compassionate leader who is motivated to drive change and maintain the high standards of patient care the ward currently delivers. The successful candidate will be supported by a designated Matron, Lead Nurse, and a strong team of Consultants, therapists, and pharmacists.
The ideal candidate will have robust experience in acute medicine and care of the older person. The post holder must have a proven track record of commitment to service improvement.
The Ward Manager has a fundamental role in the delivery of high standards of nursing care, safe staffing, and ensuring an environment that is conducive to wellbeing while contributing to effective budgetary management.
Post holders will be expected to participate fully in their personal development and review process, in order to achieve the skills required to deliver the role effectively and efficiently.
The post holder will be expected to undertake the day-to-day management of a 34-bedded ward, ensuring our patients receive excellent care and are able to evidence this with collected data.
The post holder will work closely with all members of the MDT to ensure collaborative working to provide the best outcomes for our patients.
The post holder must have previous experience of managing a large team of staff and be able to evidence how they support in clinical practice.
The post holder must have experience of managing a substantial budget and be able to demonstrate cost-effective management.
