Job Title: Sales & Events Manager

The primary objective of this position is to drive business growth and increase event sales for hospitality suites by engaging with local communities, businesses, and individuals. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Sales, the role will focus on maximizing the potential of available hospitality spaces through effective promotion and operational excellence.
As the Events and Sales Manager, you will be the primary contact for clients regarding non-event day bookings and will oversee the end-to-end event management process, including operations, physical setup, and client satisfaction to ensure a seamless event experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement event plans, timelines, and budgets.
2. Oversee the promotion and sales of events within hospitality suites and support wider club initiatives as needed.
3. Collaborate with the Commercial Sales team to create a proactive up-selling culture, working with various partners, platforms, and suppliers to generate new event opportunities.
4. Conduct market analysis to identify client needs and optimize sales potential.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing partners.
6. Take a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations, including duty management, stock rotation, liaising with the culinary team, and handling client-specific requirements.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant licensing, safety, and other regulations.
8. Manage ongoing services and compliance of suppliers and contractors, including maintenance, security, and cleaning.
9. Coordinate with the Delivery Team on non-event day functions, including business meetings, conferences, weddings, training sessions, fairs, and other events.
10. Oversee staffing levels for events, including new starter inductions, monitoring working hours, and supporting payroll processes.
11. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the club's events portfolio and act as a keyholder for the venue.
12. Establish and manage robust administrative processes to support cross-departmental communication and smooth venue hire operations.
13. Provide regular reporting on event performance and outcomes.
Person Specification
1. In-depth knowledge of the local events market, with experience in both B2B and B2C event promotion.
2. Strong background in proactive sales and event promotion, with an understanding of client profiling and market demands.
3. Proven experience in promoting successful events to a diverse target audience.
4. Personal License Holder certification.
5. Proficient in AV technology and skilled in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
6. Solid understanding of live event logistics, with prior experience in food, beverage, or hospitality environments.
7. Detail-oriented with strong administrative and organizational skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure, balancing multiple priorities and critical business timelines.
9. Creative problem-solving skills to navigate challenges during events.
10. Flexible approach to working hours, with availability for evenings and weekends as required.
11. Strong grasp of GDPR principles, confidentiality, and data sensitivity.
12. Excellent customer service abilities.
13. Proven experience in team management, including briefing and motivating staff.
14. Familiarity with Health and Safety and Fire Regulations.
