Overview: Working closely with our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team and to be progressed & developed for replacing the retiring Quality Manager.

Remit:
As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the company's products meet customer requirements and specifications, along with minimising costs of reworking or waste while ensuring customer satisfaction with the products.
This position will suit an experienced Quality Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing organisation, preferably within a plastics manufacturer; however, other industries will be considered.
Role:
1. Ensure that operatives and inspectors are working to company workmanship standards.
2. Ensure that suppliers conform to specification requirements.
3. Ensure that management systems are adhered to through audit procedures.
4. Maintain customer communications and resolution to any quality issues raised.
5. Monitor process controls across all departments.
6. Carry out Internal Auditing.
7. Conduct in-house analysis.
8. Solve problems regarding quality issues using technical resources within the company and suppliers.
9. Communicate with customers and suppliers.
10. Identify and verify standards with the customer and suppliers alike.
11. Support the Senior Inspectors with a technical supervisory resource in resolving day-to-day issues arising in manufacture.
12. Involvement in HR (i.e., conducting disciplinaries, performance management).
Experience Requirements:
1. A relevant qualification within engineering, i.e., mechanical, manufacturing, production, design or science related discipline.
2. At least five years of work experience in a manufacturing organisation, preferably plastics manufacturer.
3. Demonstrable familiarity with the processes such as product manufacturing, paint finishing, assembly work.
4. Use of quality tools - FMEA, SPC, Control plans, and possibly APQP, PPAP.
5. Audit skills.
6. Excellent verbal and written skills.
7. Proficient IT skills.
8. Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels (internal and external).
9. Highly motivated and presenting the ability to work on own initiative.
