Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist an elderly lady with health problems in her own home living in East Kilbride area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting when required with tasks such as:
· Attending to all personal care needs such as washing, dressing, bathing, toileting
· Assisting with medication
· Preparing meals and healthy snacks
· Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair
· Household shopping
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Driver essential and you will be required to use your own vehicle – mileage allowance will be paid.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog in the home.
Experience of caring for the elderly desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
You must provide references from 2 contactable employers
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for one position
Guaranteed permanent position of 13 hours per week
Days and times:
Hours are spread over evenings and weekends with an additional approximately 20 sleepovers per year (sleepover rate to be discussed at interview)
Hourly rate:
£12.00 per hour
