We are seeking a Principal Thermal Modeller to lead the delivery of thermal modelling projects, focusing on developing, delivering, and assessing detailed thermal comfort strategies for complex residential and non-residential developments. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in overheating consultancy to coordinate project delivery, support junior team members, and drive service development, skills training, and business growth within our thermal modelling services. You will also manage and lead multi-disciplinary projects, responding to client briefs with innovative strategies and solutions. This position offers exposure to a wide range of services within our company, allowing you to learn from and collaborate with experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the delivery of thermal modelling projects, developing and assessing thermal comfort strategies.
2. Coordinate project delivery and provide support to junior employees.
3. Manage multi-disciplinary projects and respond to client briefs with innovative solutions.
4. Drive service development, training, and business growth within thermal modelling services.
5. Collaborate with other service areas within the company to enhance overall service offerings.
Education & Experience:
1. A relevant degree and/or substantial experience in the sector.
2. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in dynamic modelling and consultancy for residential and non-residential development.
3. Membership (or working towards membership and chartership) with a relevant industry body (e.g., CIBSE, EI, IMechE, IEMA, IEnvSc, etc.).
4. In-depth knowledge of Part O, TM59, TM52, BREEAM Hea 04, and WELL Thermal Comfort.
5. Experience working with BREEAM Hea 01, WELL Daylight Simulation, and BREEAM Ene 04 Passive Design Analysis.
6. Working knowledge of CDM Regulations, the Building Safety Act, and other relevant health and safety requirements.
7. Project management experience, ideally in multi-service energy and environmental consultancy projects.
8. Experience in technical leadership and service development.
9. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
10. Strong report writing skills and numerical literacy.
